THURSDAY NIGHTS – Biathlon Practice
- Timings: 6:30-8:30pm
- Location: 903 Air Cadets Building at the Strathmore Ag Grounds
- Dress: gym clothing and running shoes appropriate for outdoor exercise
- This is still open to any cadets interested in participating in biathlon; the first competition is Saturday, Nov 4th
- Capt Fong is able to pick up cadets in Chestermere to take to Strathmore and back, so please let her or myself know if you are interested in this
FRIDAY OCT 13TH – SUNDAY OCT 15TH – Bivouac FTX
- For those of you who haven’t seen the Facebook page, I have attached the kit list for the Bivouac FTX this weekend
- Location: Owl Group Campground at Bow Valley Provincial Park
- We have not received exact bus timings yet but please plan to drop cadets off at Camp Chestermere by 5:30pm on Friday and pick up around 3:00pm on Sunday
- This is a mandatory activity so please let me know if your cadet is unable to make it for some reason. This weekend cadets will be learning and improving upon their field skill knowledge including map & compass, navigation, building shelters, and survival skills.
MONDAY OCT 16TH – Parade Night
- It will be CO’s Parade on this night since we had to cancel the first one, so dress will be full dress uniform for those cadets that have it
OCT 28, OCT 29, NOV 4 & NOV 5 – Poppy Days
- Legion 286 in Calgary (#5, 1107 33 St NE) needs cadets to help with the poppy campaign on these weekends 9:00AM to 4:00PM
- For those of you who have not done this before, cadets will be meeting at the Legion and then be driven by parent drivers to different stores in the area to hand out poppies and collect donations for Remembrance Day
- Legion 52 also needs 4 cadets at the Walmart behind Ikea (7979 11 St SE) from 10:00AM to 4:00PM on Nov 4th; cadets will meet there and stay for the day
- Cadets will be provided with lunch on all days
- Dress: Full Dress Uniform
- It is mandatory that all cadets go to at least 1 day, but can attend more if they are able
- Attached is a form that needs to be filled out so we can get an idea of how many cadets and parent drivers we will have for each day; please hand this in to an officer or email back to me by Oct 23rd at the latest
MONDAY OCT 23RD & 30TH – Parade Nights
- Dress: Field Training Uniform (FTU)
- Regular training nights
